Therapy in Forest Hill

ReFresh Psychotherapy is a group therapy practice in Forest Hill, at 505 Eglinton Ave W, Ste 401, a short walk from Chaplin station. Much of the work here is with children, teens, couples and families, alongside psychological and psychoeducational assessments, so a client can be assessed and supported by the same team. Sessions are available in person and online across Ontario, with after-school, evening and weekend appointments.

Why Forest Hill families come to ReFresh

Forest Hill families come to ReFresh because they can get therapy and assessments in their own neighbourhood, without heading downtown. The office is on the commercial stretch of Eglinton that runs through the area, so an appointment fits around a school pickup or a Saturday morning. Chaplin station is a short walk away, right in Forest Hill at Chaplin Crescent and Eglinton.

Much of the work here is with children, teens, couples and the families around them. Some of our therapists focus on kids and families, on ADHD, autism, emotional regulation and school refusal, and our psychologists assess clients from children through to adults.

Assessments matter especially here. Forest Hill is ringed by public and private schools, and families often need documentation for classroom accommodations or an IEP. Our Registered Psychologists conduct psychological and psychoeducational assessments, covering cognitive and academic testing, learning disabilities, giftedness and twice-exceptionality. In Ontario, only psychologists and psychological associates can communicate a diagnosis, which is why most psychotherapy clinics cannot offer assessment and we can. Most take three to six weeks from intake to feedback, and you do not need a referral.

What comes after usually helps most. With the report in hand, you can move straight into therapy with a therapist here who already knows the findings, instead of starting over elsewhere.

Fees depend on the therapist and their designation. We also keep reduced-fee spots with our supervised intern and a small number of sliding-scale places we sort out case by case. If cost is the barrier, say so when you call.

Getting To The Office

The office is a short walk from Chaplin station, with a Green P lot and accessible parking three minutes away. Here is the detail.
Chaplin station on Line 5 is the closest stop, at 574 Eglinton Ave W, roughly 300 metres west of us and underground with elevators to the platform. Forest Hill station is about a kilometre west at Bathurst. From Chaplin it is a short walk east along Eglinton.
The office is about 1.3 kilometres from Spadina and Lonsdale, roughly a sixteen-minute walk or a short drive east and north.
Green P Lot 47 at 125 Burnaby Blvd is the closest lot, open 24 hours, about three minutes’ walk, with accessible spaces and rates recently around $1.50 per half hour. There is Green P pay-and-display along Eglinton, and side-street parking with permit and time limits that change block to block, so read the signs.
The front entrance on Eglinton is at street level, and there is an elevator to the fourth floor. In the interest of being straight with you: the entrance may have a small lip at the door, and the fourth-floor washroom is not wheelchair accessible. If access is a concern, call us at 647-933-5717 before you book and we will talk through what to expect.
