With over 25 years of experience as a therapist, I’ve learned that healing doesn’t come from having all the answers — it comes from being truly seen, heard, and understood. Many of the clients I work with are unsure whether therapy can help them, or they’ve had past experiences that left them feeling discouraged. I strive to offer a corrective emotional experience, especially for those who feel hesitant, sceptical, or uncertain about starting therapy.

I believe that there is a “right fit” between therapist and client — and that finding that fit is essential for meaningful progress. For teenagers and young adults, who may be especially sceptical about talk therapy, I encourage a commitment of at least two or three sessions to explore what working together might feel like.

Though I bring knowledge and training in specific therapeutic areas, I don’t consider myself an expert on anyone’s life. I see therapy as a collaborative journey, where I walk alongside my clients — listening deeply, clarifying, and making sure I truly understand their perspective. I frequently invite feedback and check in to ensure we’re aligned and that therapy is moving in a direction that feels supportive and productive.

I work with each client in a way that honours their time, financial realities, and personal pace. Together, we identify attainable goals and find realistic ways to move toward them.

My clinical focus is primarily on internalising issues such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem challenges, rather than externalising behaviours like substance use or anger. I have extensive experience identifying and diagnosing a wide range of mental health conditions and regularly collaborate with family physicians and psychiatrists to build integrated treatment plans that include therapy, lifestyle changes, and, where appropriate, medication.

I also support clients who require mental health documentation for school or work accommodations and understand how to navigate these systems in a compassionate and clinically sound way.

Above all, I believe therapy can benefit everyone. I have a special interest in working with clients facing major life transitions — entering university, graduating, starting a family, changing careers, or navigating retirement. These periods of change can stir up uncertainty, vulnerability, and opportunity, and I consider it a privilege to support people through them.
